We want this blog to be more than a shameless plug for the hospital. Yes, we want you to have a forum to discuss health care issues, we want you to know about all of our state-of-the-art health services, and we want you to be the first to know about our seminars. But we also want to use this venue to shine the spotlight on some of our friends in the community who are doing great things.
First things first – check out this story about our local school district, the Birdville ISD. North Hills Hospital has partnered with our schools for years – we take students interested in a health care career into the hospital and expose them to what the various jobs are “really” like. We support athletic programs, the education foundation, fun runs, project graduations, and programs to educate high schoolers on the dangers of drinking and driving.
So you can imagine the pride we felt this morning when we saw the Channel 5 announcement that our Birdville ISD has created a new program that will make it possible for EVERY SINGLE SENIOR to go to college for at least a year. Think about the lives that will be changed because of access to education. All of us will benefit from such an aggressive program.
The hospital is an official hospital for The Cowtown Marathon, which was held last week. Check out this video of the race from a unique bird’s eye view:
And finally, some North Hills News: we were in the Star-Telegram over the weekend for our policy about inductions prior to 39 weeks. You can read the whole story here.
