Spine surgery. Gasp. It’s a scary thing that nobody wants to think about. But the reality is that back surgery has changed drastically in the past few years, with new technology coming out that creates faster surgeries with quicker recovery times.

As part of our focus on providing the latest and greatest in technology at our facility, North Hills Hospital has invested in the O-Arm Imaging System, and we’re one of only two hospitals in North Texas to have such a distinction.

What this means for you: The O-Arm Imaging System provides surgeons with real-time, 3-D images, allowing the surgeon to view the patient anatomy in the operative position, monitor the status of the surgery, and verify the surgical changes with a 3D image prior to the patient leaving the surgical suite (it’s very similar to having a CT-scan available throughout surgery, ready for the surgeon to view any part of the patient’s anatomy while he’s operating). As a result, patients undergoing spinal procedures may experience less invasive surgeries, faster recovery times, and improved outcomes.

Those are words we all like to hear: less invasive, faster recovery, better outcomes.
